Ron,

I journeyed to Warner Robins AFB on May 5, 2003 to preside at the retirement ceremony of SMSgt Paul Gibbons after some 22 plus years service. Paul's first assignment in the Air Force after basic and tech school was to the 435 APS where he worked in Air Freight. His second tour in the AF was in the 1606th Transportation Squadron, Logair Section at Kirtland AFB, NM when I was the squadron commander.

The attached photos are of the presentation of the Meritorious Service Medal to Paul and the presentation of the Certificate of Appreciation to his wife, Pat, as Paul looks on. Paul just earned his Masters Degree in Accounting and will work as an auditor.

AIR FORCE PARENT PIN

During World War II, the U.S. military used Employer flags to recognize companies whose efficient production made major contributions to the overall war effort. Today, as we wage war on terrorism, this contemporary adaptation - a "P" cradled in the Air Force symbol - recognizes the vital partnership between America's Air Force and the parents of our airmen.
