Col Sidney Paul Bunzendahl Jr., USAF (Ret)
Paul Bunzendahl, 63, a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, while visiting family members in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: was held at Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Memorials: Donations may be made in his memory to the Humane Society of North Texas.
Paul was born March 19, 1944, in Chicago to Sidney Paul and Florence
Dixon Bunzendahl. Paul graduated from Paschal High School in 1962. He received
his B.B.A. from Texas Christian University in 1966 and his M.B.A. from the
University of Tennessee in 1973. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 26
years and retired in 1993 as a colonel.
After his retirement, he worked in higher education, serving in various capacities
including professor, dean and in administration while living in San Antonio and
Paul was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for over 30 years. He was
a connoisseur of fine wine and travel. His storytelling always included a few
personal embellishments: "If it's not true, it should be."
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Paul Bunzendahl.
Survivors: Wife, Vivianne Bunzendahl; daughters, Jill Bunzendahl Chimka and
Melissa Bunzendahl; granddaughter, Sydney Martha Chimka; mother, Florence
Bunzendahl; sister, Sharon Rudd; a host of family and friends.
